Illuminated bales of hay, Romany-painted caravans, a mystic fortune teller and a travelling band strumming (plus a whole host of high-profile fashionistas) - this is how to do a gypsy wedding in style. Margherita Missoni, fashion heiress and daughter of creative director Angela Missoni, got married this weekend in the Varese countryside, outside Milan.

Margherita married local beau Eugenio Amos and guests included Carine Roitfeld and Mario Testino. Her dress was a Giambattista Valli design made with Missoni silk and organza and the bride wore her hair in Heidi-esque braids with a gothic-style tiara.

The traditional ceremony took place at the Santa Maria Annunciata church in Brunello and the guests ate Moroccan food on cushions scattered on the grass. The bridesmaids wore floral dresses and fresh-flower headdresses that matched Margherita's bouquet. Love the over-embellished wedding dress worn in a simple Italian farmhouse setting!
