Hotel of the week: Wythe Hotel

Senin, 09 Juli 2012

The hotel I'm loving this week is the new Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, which is a former factory dating back to 1901 that has been preserved and renovated to offer 72 rooms on the Williamsburg waterfront in the heart of the New York borough. The Wythe has kept the building's industrial character with bare brick walls, original pine beams and cast-iron columns, and it has a New York apartment style about it.

The rooms feature oversized windows, heated concrete floors and seasonally sourced mini-bar offerings.
There are also antique mirrors and eco-friendly bath products. If you want a hotel in New York with amazing views, the Wythe offers views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

In the hotel's restaurant Reynards, there's a wood-fired oven and grill, courtyard seating and daily menu and seasonal cocktails. The food at the hotel is managed by renowned Brooklyn restaurateur Andrew Tarlow.

The Wythe is set in Brooklyn's most vibrant neighbourhood with art galleries, bars, restaurants and boutiques within walking distance. It's one subway stop from Manhattan and minutes from Union Square. Doubles from $179.
