In India, Taj Falaknuma Palace is a grand hotel that has hosted royalty and Heads of State. It oozes antique style with marble staircases, Venetian chandeliers and rare furniture. Its library is pretty impressive too and made up of rare books and manuscripts. There are 5,900 books on literature, art, history and religion in the Palace Library, as well as first editions of epic romance Titanic, encyclopedias from the last century and one of the most special collection of qurans in the country. The library is a replica of the one in Windsor Castle with teak and rosweood book-lined walls. Even if you read a book a day in this library, it would take you 16 years!
If you like films, you need to check in to Astoria 7 in San Sebastian, Spain, which is the ultimate hotel for movie buffs. Not only was it built on the site of the city's old cinema, but it also has rooms named after film stars who stayed at the hotel during the San Sebastian Film Festival. So what does this have to do with books, you ask? Astoria 7 only has a fantastic library full of books on film to match its theme.

It houses various fashion, art and travel reads and even includes a collection of books chosen by leading travel journalists. Just don't forget where you are. Radisson Blu Edwardian in Guildford has one of the most inspiring libraries around. The hotel's interior designer Rabih Hage, was inspired by local author Lewis Carroll and the concept of performance. There are sky-high bookcases with a 'ladder to nowhere', a library kiosk with a secret staircase so you can watch and read from the roof and a screen inside with a fire blazing for you to sit and read a book in a warm atmosphere. There are also children's book readings held in the kiosk throughout the year.
Aptly named The Library, this hotel in Thailand has a stunning spot to store its books. You can leave your holiday reading at home if you're staying here as there are hundreds of titles in the alabaster-white library to leaf through, plus a selection of DVDs to watch. At The Library it's all about books. The suites are referred to as 'pages', the restaurant is called The Page and there are bean bags at the beach bar so you can enjoy relaxing with a book and cocktail in hand.
