Hotel of the week: Palacio Nazarenas

Selasa, 19 Juni 2012

With so many gorgeous hotels around the world it's impossible for me to talk about them all, so each week I'll select my favourite for a Hotel of the week series. First up, is the stunning new Palacio Nazarenas which has just opened its doors in Peru.

Part of the Orient-Express portfolio, the all-suite hotel exudes luxury and boasts spectacular surroundings. The former 16th century convent located in the capital of the ancient Inca empire, Cuzco, has 55 state-of-the-art oxygenated rooms, the first outdoor infinity pool in the area and a gourmet restaurant.

The property is so special that the excavation process required the use of toothbrushes with a whole host of treasures found by architects and archaeologists which are now displayed at the hotel's Library. Book a Z-Collection suite for their original Inca niches and Colonial arches or the Nazarenas suite, formerly the Abbess' private prayer room.

More of Palacio Nazarenas' unique features include original Inca walls that have been preserved under glass floors with a stream running over them in the Hypnoze spa, its own perfume made from Andean herbs in the garden for guests to take the fragrance home with them to remember their stay and each suite has a cocktail making set with instructions and recipes so you can createfor making exotic Andean tipples and enjoying the stunning views.
