I spent a weekend in the beautiful Swiss city of Geneva, full of culture, fabulous food and lots of watches! It's not at all how I imagined it and although it is a brilliant place to go for a luxury city break and it is a haunt for billionaires, there's lots to see and do on a budget too. Some of the most memorable attractions from my trip include the iconic Jet d'eau, the house where Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein and the breathtaking vineyards just a 10-minute drive out of the city. Here's my 48 hours in Geneva in pictures...

Up the stairs to the first class dining area, of course
I usually hate foam in any dish but these tandoori prawns with risotto were amazing
Steamed cod with dill and pink berries, and soy consommé
Raspberry crusty Napoleon and ice cream
Naturally the captain invited us up to his bridge!

Stunning architecture in Geneva
How cool is this view of the mountains from a flea market?
Talking of cool, this is probably the most interesting car park I've ever seen. Saint-Antoine is part car park, part archeological site
The main square Place du Bourg de Four, where people meet in the day and night and people watch from the cafes

The Cafe-Restaurant de l'Hotel de Ville just opposite the Town Hall
The most elegant fish and chips you've ever seen? Perch in lemon and butter - delish!
Geneva has a few quirks too. Did you know that the city is home to the world's longest wooden bench? It measures 120 metres and was built in 1767!
